Obituary: Mary Evelyn Aldridge Wilson, age 86 of Mt Pleasant, formerly of Kannapolis, died Friday, March 30, 2012 at her home after a long illness. A graveside service will be held at New Gilead Reformed Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 4 with Rev. Jeff Richards officiating. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 7:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday, April 3. Mary was born November 7, 1925 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late George A. Aldridge, Sr. and Mary Bost Aldridge. A lifelong area resident and member of New Gilead Reformed Church, Mary was retired from working for Cannon Mills in the Sewing room and belonged to the Moose Lodge # 1722. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband Denell "Willie" Wilson, her sisters, Frances Riley and Sarah Sossoman and her brothers, Bill and Jr. Aldridge. Mary is survived by her son, Willie "Rick" Russ of Concord, her daughters; Gladys Page of Mt. Pleasant and Shirley Kiker and Sherry Gulledge, both of Kannapolis. She is also survived by7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and sisters, Janice Wilson and Rebecca Aldridge and brother, Carl Aldridge, all of Concord. Online condolences may be left at www.
