Obituary: Mary Henley Withers 89, of Kannapolis died Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Brian Center in Concord following a period of declining health. Ms. Withers was born in Stanly County, NC on September 25, 1922 a daughter of the late Walter and Sally Whitley Henley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.Ms. Withers was employed by Cannon Mills in the wash cloth dept. as an overedger and retired from there after more than 40 years of employment. Following retirement she was the primary caregiver for her mother.Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home main chapel with Pastor Marshall Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.Ms. Withers is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Withers Brooks (Marshall) of Kannapolis, 2 sisters, Glenna Fowler (James) of Merritt Island, FL., and Sally Stubbs of Kannapolis, 2 grandsons, Marty Brooks (Megan) of Concord, and Leo Brooks of Kannapolis, 4 great grandchildren, Jax, Asa, Shelton, and Gracie Brooks, and several nieces and nephews.
