Mary Biggerstaff Wyetzner

Obituary: Mary Biggerstaff Wyetzner, 87, of New York City, NY died quietly in her sleep July 17, 2010 at her home in New York. Born September 20, 1921 in Gaston County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alford A. and Ella Cleo Smith Biggerstaff. She was a member of Organ Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Biggerstaff of Columbus, Ga. and Cleveland Biggerstaff of Baltimore, Md. and a sister Evelyn Austin of Rockwell. She is survived by her husband, Leo Wyetzner of New York City, NY, three sisters: Mabel Tarlton of Rockwell, Kathleen Zakis of Kannapolis and Rosa Black of Rockwell, a brother Guy Biggerstaff of Kannapolis, and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was always devoted to her family and loved them very much. She was loved dearly by everyone, a very helpful and loving person. Mary loved to travel with her husband, Leo. Her favorite place to travel was Europe, especially England and France. She also visited other countries in Europe, Israel, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Aruba and Mexico were a few of the places she had visited. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel officiated by Rev. Terrell Long. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM prior. Memorials may be made to Organ Lutheran Church, 1515 Organ Church Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146, or Genesis Baptist Church %Building Fund 9710 Old Concord Rd., China Grove, NC 28023 or the charity of one's choice.

Service: 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 20 at Whitley's Funeral Home

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park
