Mattie "Sue" Stancil Blackwelder

Obituary: Mattie "Sue" Stancil Blackwelder, 77, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Brian Center of Salisbury following a period of declining health. She was born June 5, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Charles and Jewel Patterson Stancil. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Lee Blackwelder, Sr. who died September 11, 2011, and two brothers Ralph and J.W. Stancil. Mattie was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and loved to plant flowers and garden. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 10, 2015 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Dan Caldwell. Survivors include her son, Bobbie Lee Blackwelder, Jr. of Salisbury, and one daughter, Teresa Brown (Jimmy) of Salisbury, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Juanita Hartsell of Locust also survive.
