Max Elijah Bowlin, 79, of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from Atrium Health Cabarrus, following a brief illness.
Born September 14, 1942, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Johan Elijah and Bessie Mae Wingler Bowlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mr. Bowlin had retired from Cannon Mills after more than 45 years of faithful service. He was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church, was a NC Tar Heel and NY Yankees fan. Max loved his family and enjoyed time spent with them. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Loving family members include his wife of 57 years, Linda Moss Bowlin; his sons, Rodney Bowlin (Amy Barker Bowlin), Mark Bowlin (Angie Rainwater Bowlin) and Steve Bowlin (Kisha Hudson Bowlin); his grandchildren, Caleb Bowlin and Jena and Brooklyn Bowlin; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm Friday, October 1, 2021, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Graveside services to remember and celebrate Max’s life will begin at 2:00 pm Friday at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery.
