Obituary: Maxie "Alease" Wentz, 71, formerly of Concord died Friday, July 29, 2011 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehab. in Albemarle after a period of declining health.A graveside service at Carolina Memorial Park will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, August 1 with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home, at other times the family will be at the home of her daughter, Mary Jo Borner.Alease was born August 25, 1939 in Chinquapin, NC, a daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Watkins Maready. A long-time area resident, Alease was of the Baptist Faith. She worked for CMC-NE for 30 years and 6 months as a CAN, until she retired in 2004. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with here grandkids. Alease was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed.In addition to her parents, Alease was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Ray Wentz, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Borner (Herb) of Mt. Pleasant and Sandra Melton (Lloyd) of Kannapolis; her grandchildren, Darryl and David Wentz and Haley and Jacob Melton and a great-granddaughter Zella Wentz. She is also survived by 4 sisters; Letha Brown of Jacksonville NC, Ida Mae Smith of Chinquapin, Faye Wilder of Concord, Linda Rothrock of Winston Salem and 3 brothers, Willie and Robbie Maready of Chinquapin and Windle Maready of Mt.
