Obituary: Maxine Broadway, 83, of Kannapolis, passed away January 21, 2017 at her home. She was born April 1, 1933 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Mack Baxter Kerley and Cozie Ree Wagoner Kerley. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Greg Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday prior to the funeral service. Maxine worked for Cannon Mills in the sewing room, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She was a member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church, member of the United Methodist Women Circle, started Jet Set, a youth leader, choir member, Gladys Nelson Sunday School class and teacher, Visitation Team member, Member of the Eastern Star, Maxine had went to Costa Rica Mission trip with church, she loved Jesus and her church. She was preceded in death by her husband Otis C. Broadway Sr. and a brother E. Ray Kerley. Those left to cherish her memory are, her sons Craige Broadway (Pat) of Kannapolis, Joe Broadway (Sharon) of Kannapolis, daughter, Patsy Broadway McKheean (Benny) of China Grove, four Grandchildren, Rodney Wayne Carter, Erica Jo Broadway, Adam Broadway, Jennifer Broadway Wright, 9 Great-grandchildren Karson, Kayman, and Kennady Wright, Sarah Carter, Daijsha, Drae, and Danikah Hooks, Isabelle, and Brianna Broadway.
