Melinda "Mindy" Dale (Beam) Figueroa

Melinda “Mindy” Dale Beam Figueroa, 67, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2024 at her residence.

Mindy was born on February 6, 1957 in Cumberland County. She was the cherished daughter of Bobbie Jean Smith Beam and the late Hansel Maurice Beam. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Al Figuero.

Mindy was the kind of person who could light up a room with her infectious smile and welcoming spirit. She was always there for her friends and family, drawing people in with her kindness and generosity. If you were lucky enough to know her, you knew you had a true friend.

A true sports enthusiast, Mindy was an unwavering supporter of Carolina Tar Heel sports. Her love for the team was infectious, creating countless memories and shared moments with her brothers.

Mindy was an avid reader, you could find her curled up with a good book, lost in a world of words. She loved traveling and was even able to visit Europe. Mindy was along time member of Midway United Methodist, where she was christened.

Professionally, Mindy dedicated her talents to Duke Energy, where she served with distinction in the Information Technology and phone support departments.

Above all, Mindy was the ultimate supporter for her family. She believed in their dreams and pushed them to reach for the stars. Her love and support were the glue that held everyone together, creating a family bond that will last forever. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Bobbie Jean Smith Beam; brothers, Marty Beam (Soncerae), Mike (Kathy) Beam, and Mark Beam; nieces and nephews, Jesse (Ashley), Toni, and Amber Beam, Virginia Miller (Jeb) Katy Schruman (John), Christopher, Joseph, and Mary Dierkis; great-nieces and nephews, June and Hank Miller.
