Mellie Joan Freeman

Obituary: Mellie Joan McDuffie Freeman, 81, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House following a short illness. Mellie was born September 5, 1937 in Franklin County, Ga. a daughter of the late Earl F. and Eunice Hanley McDuffie. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; Marion, James, Willie and Earl McFuffie, Jr. and three sisters; Mary Sue Lunsford, Blondine Cromer and Elsie Brown. She is survived by a daughter; Gina Freeman, and two sons, Monty and Tony Freeman; six grandchildren; Miranda, Tyler, Jarrod, Andrew, Alyssa and TC Freeman. She also has five great grandchildren; Abigail Tinsley, Jaxon Freeman, Cade Efird, Dylan and Ciara Billings and her 2 sisters; Betty Pethel and Frances "Shorty" Cook. She enjoyed cooking for her family, planting flowers and working in her yard. She attended Bethpage United Methodist Church. Her family will certainly remember her as a wonderful mother. Private services will be held at a later date.
