Melvin Cornelius Demarcus

Obituary: Melvin Cornelius DeMarcus, 56, of Kannapolis died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at CMC-Northeast Medical Center Concord. Death was unexpected. He was born March 14, 1956 in Iredell County, NC a son of the late Marvin Eugene and Gladys Catherine Furr DeMarcus. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Norman Eugene DeMarcus. Melvin was employed at Cannon Mills Plt. #1, Spinning Room in earlier years and at the time of his death he was employed at Value Village. He was a member of Landis Baptist Church. Melvin enjoyed music and played the organ and piano. He loved many and was loved by all. He is survived by his twin brother, Elvin DeMarcus of Kannapolis, sister, Cathy DeMarcus of Mt.Pleasant, two nieces, Laurajean DeMarcus and Laura Harkey. He is also survived his dog, "Little Bit". Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Landis Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Billy Honeycutt. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. At other times the family will be at the residence of his twin brother, Elvin DeMarcus. Memorials may be made to Landis Baptist Church, 110 N. Kimmons Street, Landis, NC 28088.
