Obituary: Metta Belle Irvin Price, age 88, of Concord died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at CMC-NE after a brief illness.Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, December 3rd at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Revs. Danny and Vickie Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the funeral from 12:00PM to 1:00PM. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. At other times the family will be at her residence.Metta was born February 9, 1923 in Cabarrus Co. a daughter of the late Victor B. Irvin and Virginia Dare Johnson Irvin. A life long area resident and long time member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, She worked for Cannon Mills Plant #1 #6 Weave room for 20 years until she retired.In addition to her parents, Metta was preceded in death by her husband T. W. Price in 1976 and her 2 brothers Ben and W.A. Irvin; and sister Doris Kestler.She is survived by her son, Steven Keith Price (Susan) of Concord and her 2 grandchildren; Kinsey and Dusty Price and several nieces and nephews.
