Michael Warren Brooks

Obituary: Michael Warren Brooks, age 51, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 5, 2014. He was born November 4, 1963 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Mary Lee Burr Vaughn and the late Harvey L. Brooks. Michael has been disabled for several years. Prior to that time he worked at the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Bleachery Dept. for some time. He enjoyed fishing and drawing artistic pictures. He especially enjoyed spending time with his pet, Sophie. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr.Tommy Wensil. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Debbie Safrit Brooks; his brother, Darryl Brooks & wife, Karen of Kannapolis, NC; his sister, Teresa Brooks Ethington & husband, David of Ft. Mill, SC; two nephews, Nickolas Brooks of Kannapolis, NC and Adam Simpkins of Ft. Mill, SC. Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
