Michael Leon Deal

Michael Leon Deal, 54, of China Grove died unexpectedly in North Myrtle Beach, SC on March 25, 2022. He was born June 16, 1967 in Cabarrus County, a son of Joyce DeMarcus Deal of China Grove and the late Otho (Oak) Leon Deal.

Michael was employed at Duke Energy McGuire Nuclear Plant for many years. He was a graduate of South Rowan High School and Western Carolina University. Michael was a member of Kannapolis Church of God. He was an Eagle Scout and worked as a Boy Scout leader. Michael enjoyed being outdoors spending time fishing, hunting, and working on the farm.  He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time helping others.

His family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home on Friday, April 1st from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 2 at First Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis at 1pm with graveside services following at Mt Zion United Church of Christ in China Grove.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Oshellin Miles Freeze-Deal, children, Ashley Deal, Alex Deal and Zachary Deal, step children, Tyler Freeze (Kristin and grandson Archie), Tanner Freeze and Trey Freeze, sister, Tamara (Mike) Jones their daughters Keely Donahue (Brent, Kaison and Kinley) and Kaitlyn Jones.
