Michael Lynn Fisher, Sr.

September 22, 1950 — June 25, 2021

Kannapolis

Michael Lynn Fisher, Sr, 70, of Kannapolis passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 25, 2021.

Michael was born September 22, 1950 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Henry and Marguerite Fisher. He was a life-long area resident and an active member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. Many will remember Bitsy Bakery that he co-owned with his parents. After that, he went into a sales career that eventually led him to a late-stage calling to sell durable medical equipment.

Michael was a kind and compassionate man of God. He always went above and beyond to do the very best for others. He was a model of what being a good dad is. We’ve often called him “The Fixer” because no matter what happened in our family, he was able to fix it.

His wife of 50 years, Terry Renee McDaniel Fisher, passed away back in October. They were high school sweethearts and got married in July of 1970. Together, they raised a family and provided many memorable moments over the years...trips to Florida and Disneyworld, a European vacation, their annual New Year’s Party, many family gatherings, and many opportunities for fellowship with their church family. One of the most enduring memories of Michael and Terry was their love of Christmas: the decorations, the extended family, the Kannapolis Christmas parade, the lights of McAdenville, and sharing this love of Christmas and giving throughout our family. That will be an indelible reminder of the enduring power of love and family.

As we hear from friends and family far and wide, there are common themes emerging about what kind of man Michael was. People see him as kind and generous, altruistic and big-hearted. He was a good man. He was a great Dad. He was a wonderful “Paw” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved very much.

He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Terry as well as his parents and older brother. Michael is survived by his children, Michael L. Fisher, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Buffalo, NY, Adam Fisher (Heather) of Rock Hill, SC, and Elizabeth Fisher, of Kannapolis; his grandchildren Lily, Charlotte, Jacob (Katlynn), Corbin, Tristan (Aiden) and Shelbi; his great-grandchildren Lochlan and Beckett, his brother David Fisher (Terry) of Kannapolis, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, July 1st at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor John Futterer officiating and it will be live- streamed on the Kimball Lutheran Facebook Group. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 PM in the Kimball church commons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, 101 Vance Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
