Obituary: Michael Lee Humphrey, 71, of Kannapolis passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home. Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, Nov. 3 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Michael was born November 8, 1944 in York Co. South Carolina to the late James E. Humphrey and Mary Catherine Cornelius Crawford Humphrey. Served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was in Vietnam from 68 to 71 as a Radio Operator in the First Air Calvary, He served three tours. He was preceded in death by his brother, James F. Humphrey, and sister Maxine C. Humphrey. Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife of 42 years Elaine Henderson Humphrey, son Garron Humphrey, granddaughter, Iris Love, and sister Mary Lisa Humphrey.
