Obituary: Michael Timothy Leonard, 62, of Kannapolis passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast. He was born in Cabarrus County on March 10, 1951. He was the son of Lamont Timothy Leonard of Kannapolis and the late Pearl Ann Hayes Leonard. He worked for Freightliner in Cleveland and also for several dealerships in the area as a mechanic. He was a member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Royal Oaks Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Leon Smith. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Diane Plummer Leonard, whom he married March 11th, 1969, a daughter, Barbara Ann Leonard Roten married to Wayne Roten of Concord, a son, Michael Wayne Leonard of Landis, a brother, Donald Ray Leonard married to Brenda of China Grove, two granddaughters, Karen Christine Boone of Concord, Candice Diane Upright Shoe married to Matthew Shoe of Kannapolis, three grandsons, Adam Timothy Leonard, Christopher Wayne Leonard and Daniel Eugene Burris, one great-grandson, Hunner Allen Hill.

Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday August 24, 2013 Royal Oaks Baptist Church.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
