Obituary: Michael Ray Spry, 56, of Kannapolis passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Novant Rowan Medical Center. He was born July 22, 1957 in Cabarrus County, the son of Jack R. Spry and Martha Lowder Spry. Mike had been retired due to disability. He was a local musician playing for years with "Fat Back Mule". He loved racing of all kinds, especially NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Trina Thompson Spry, three children, Matt Spry, Sunshine White, Ashley Spry, 4 grandchildren, Lilly, Ke'Luhv, Electra, Corbin, two brothers, Dean Spry and David Spry and a sister, Tammy Linn. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or March of Dimes, 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue White Plains, NY 10605.
