Mildred Louise (Overcash) Davidson

Mildred Davidson ("Mickey" as she was affectionally known), 93 years old went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 19. Mickey was born February 12, 1930, to the late Clark Roland and Sadie Helms Overcash. She was a lifelong resident of Kannapolis and a faithful member of Midway United Methodist since 1939. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Wesley Davidson, an infant son Charles Eugene and her four siblings Roland Overcash, Jr., Daniel Reid Overcash, Helen Dellinger and Barbara Clark.

Mickey loved life, her family, and everyone she met. She never met a stranger. Most of all she loved Her Lord and Savior and was a good and faithful servant. She taught the 3rd and 4* grade Sunday School at Midway for over 20 years, served as secretary to the Administrative Board for several terms, assisted in the Girl Scout Program for over 10 years and was a member of the Ophelia Clayton Circle for over 20 years. She loved her church and church family very much.

Mickey is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Davis and Tammy Lewis (Rick), one grandson, Benjamin Davis, two granddaughters, Brittany Shytle (Neil), Kaylee Lewis (Savannah) and one great grandson, Drake Shytle.

Mickey will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who was blessed to have known her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Whitley's Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Midway United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 11:00am, officiated by Rev. Craig Allen. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Mickey’s memory to either Midway United Methodist Church or Hospice Home of High Point.
