Mildred Louise (Hallman) Jolly

Kannapolis

Mildred Louise Hallman Jolly, 87, of Kannapolis passed away May 11, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus, after a brief illness.

Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Her Funeral will be held at West Point Baptist Church on Sunday, May 15 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Eddie Willis, Rev. William Nix and Rev. David Haltom officiating. She will lie-in-state at the church the hour before service time, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

She was born on October 19, 1934 in Cabarrus Co., the daughter of Gene and Osa Fink Hallman. In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Simon Jolly, her son, David Jolly, her granddaughter, Amy Louise Therrell, her brothers, Richard and Wayne Hallman and her sister-in-law, Betty Hallman.

Mildred was a life-long area resident and graduate of Landis High School, Class of 1953. She was a charter member of West Point Baptist. In earlier years, Mildred worked for Cannon Mills in the towel department as a hemmer. She enjoyed family trips to the beach and loved going to the mountains. Mildred loved traveling . She loved to watch John Wayne movies, old westerns, Gun Smoke and the Andy Griffith Show. Mildred was the best mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She was the "rock of the family" and had a "heart of gold". Mildred will be dearly missed.

Mildred is survived by her children; Michael Jolly, Robert Jolly (Lisa), Rhonda Jolly, all of Kannapolis and Carol Knickerbocker (Jim) of Mooresville; her grandchildren, Christopher Austin, Ashley Overcash (Derrick) and Derrick Lear and 18 great-grandchildren and her brother, James Hallman.
