Mildred Mcgee

Obituary: Mildred Marion Graham McGee, 92, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks. Her death was unexpected. She was born February 8, 1926 in Rowan County, NC a daughter of the late Thomas Arthur Graham and the late Minnie Grace Schenk Graham. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Paul Hutchinson McGee on Oct. 14, 2014, her sister, Roxie Beaver, and four brothers; Benny, Bob, Dan and Everette Graham. Mildred was a 1943 graduate of Mt. Ulla High School. She married Paul McGee on January 25, 1947 and together they owned and operated McGee Concrete and Construction Company in Salisbury and Mooresville until their retirements. She was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class and the Mary Margaret Circle. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, raising flowers and taking care of her grandchildren. Funeral services to celebrate Mildred's life will be held 5:00 P.M. Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Salem Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Dawn Rister. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 3:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of a daughter, Janice Shaver of Salisbury. Family members left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Janice Shaver (Don) and her son, Donnie McGee (Debbie), both of Salisbury, four grandchildren; Stacey White (Tim), Amy Overcash (Derek), Paul Shaver and Kevin Shaver. She is also survived by five great grandchildren; Ashlynn, Amber, Mira, Taylor, and Michael.
