Mildred Cherry Sherrill

Obituary: Mildred Cherry Sherrill, age 94, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Wexford House, Denver, NC after a short period of declining health. She was born August 28, 1916 in Lincoln County, NC, the daughter of the late Henry Durant Cherry and Minnie McIntosh Cherry. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Austin (Bob) Sherrill who died September 28, 1999; and eight brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Andrew Di Pastena. Graveside will be held at 4:30 P.M. Thursday afternoon following the service at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Sherrills Ford, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Sherrill Jenkins & husband, Jim of Statesville, NC and Margo Sherrill Mauch & husband, Bill of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Marbi DiPastena, Brent Mauch, and Mandy Haynes; one step-grandchild, Eric Jenkins; six great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
