Mildred "Mac" Mcglaughlin Stephens

Obituary: - Mildred McGlaughlin Stephens (Mac), age 87, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2015 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. She was born April 25, 1927 in Rockingham County, VA, the daughter of the late George Edward McGlaughlin and Sallie Virginia Gibbs McGlaughlin. Mac was a 1948 graduate of Medical College of Virginia School of Nursing, Richmond, VA. Mac was employed for twenty-three years as a nurse with the medical practice of Dr. Marler S. Tuttle and Dr. John C. Tuttle in Kannapolis. She was a very active member of St. John's Reformed Church, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to her church work, Mac had also volunteered with many organizations over the years including Red Cross, CCM, and the Cabarrus Mem. Hospital Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. R.S. Stephens; two brothers; and one sister. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2015 at St. John's Reformed Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr. Joe Coltrane. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends after the memorial service. Survivors include her two daughters, Cindy S. Kratsch and friend, Mark W. Holmes of Richmond, VA and Jo Anna Stephens of Kannapolis, NC; grandson, Stephen R. Kratsch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to St. John's Reformed Church, 901 N.
