Obituary: Mildred (Millie) Gibbons Brumley, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after a serious illness of three weeks. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Roscoe Huntington Gibbons and Daisy Queen Gibbons. Millie was employed with Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, as a bookkeeper/secretary from 1979 until the mid-1980's. For many years she spent much quality time helping her mother and with her health needs. She attended St. John's Reformed Church, Kannapolis, NC for many years in earlier times. Millie thoroughly enjoyed her visits with friends at the Lunch Plus program held in Kannapolis through the years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her previous husband, Waymon Dudley and William (Bill) Brumley; a brother, William Gibbons & his wife, Laura Gibbons; and a niece, Billie Almond. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Kannapolis Cemetery, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Revs. Steve Barr and Wade Easom. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. Survivors include her great-niece, Lee Ann Almond; her niece's husband, Ronnie Almond; a daughter-in-law, Ingrid Brown; two step-grandsons, William Colton Brumley and Connor Davis Brumley; and a step-son-in-law, Jason Brumley & a step-daughter-in-law, Sybil Brumley. The family would like to thank the staff at Tucker Hospice House and the volunteers involved with the Lunch Plus program for their loving care and support during Millie's illness.
