Obituary: Mr. Milton Ray Pence, 87, of Kannapolis, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday August 11, 2011. Death was unexpected.Mr. Pence was born on July 8, 1924 in Cleveland, NC the son of the late Richard Henry Pence and the late Annie Elizabeth Steele Pence. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He was also preceded by a Great-granddaughter.Survivors include his wife of 65 years Ruby Weaver Pence of the home. 1 Daughter; Sandra Dean (Paul) of Milledgeville, GA. 2 sons; Bobby Pence (Sherry) of Charlotte, NC and Randy (Kathy) of Supply, NC. 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren.He was the owner and operator of Central Furniture and Wayside Furniture in Kannapolis, NC for many years. He was a veteran of World War II serving with Company L, 318th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.The family will receive friends on Saturday August 13, 2011 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Centerview Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Services will be at 3:00PM at Centerview Baptist Church with the Rev. Willy Rash officiating.
