Mitchell Ewing

Obituary: Mitchell "Mitch" Ewing, 62, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at CHS-Northeast Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born July 3, 1953 in Cabarrus County, he was a son of Earl "Bud" Ewing, Sr. and Gloria Jean Goforth Ewing, of China Grove. Mitch was a 1970 graduate of South Rowan High School. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mitch enjoyed frequent bike rally trips to the beach and mountains. A simple, kind and loving son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many, Mitch will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, family members left with cherished memories include his daughter Emily Kindley (Mark) of Concord; his sister Judy Hartis (Mike) of China Grove; brother Dan Ewing (Carol) of Morrisville; nieces Laura Beth Barnhart (Kelly) and Julia Chrismon (Glenn); nephews Daniel Ewing, Shawn Ewing (LeeAnna) and Nathan Ewing; his grandchildren Maddie and Seth Kindley and great-nieces. The family will receive friends Friday, March 11th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home. A memorial service to remember and celebrate Mitch's life will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday at Kerr Street United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jim Hood, pastor.
