Mittie M. Wentz

Obituary: Mittie Mills Wentz, 96, of Concord passed to eternal life on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 a CMC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord. She was born October 2, 1917 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Walter W. and Lillie Goble Mills. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers and eight sisters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Olin Wentz. Survivors include two daughters, June Melton (George) and Tonya Ligon (Gene) both of Concord. Four grandchildren; Duane Melton (Valerie) and Brent Melton, Valerie Hill (Brian) and Angie Hopkins (Robert). Six great grandchildren; Jordan and Jonathan Melton, Michael (Ashley) Melton, Taylor Freeze, Carlie and Candace Hill. Mrs. Wentz was a strong woman of faith, caring, benevolent, loved sewing, cooking for her entire family, especially her famous biscuits, quilting and spending time with her beloved family. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Duane Melton, grandson. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M.-3:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday February 16, 2014 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
