Mozelle Miller Rivers

Obituary: Mrs. Mozelle Miller Rivers, 92, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2015 following a brief illness. Mozelle was born December 16, 1922 in Ashe County, NC a daughter of the late Philmore and Myra Mash Miller. Her husband, John E. Rivers preceded her in death June 29, 1986. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was very active in all phases of church work; especially working with the children and seniors of the church. She taught Sunbeams, was a member of the Daisy Watkins Sunday School Class, the Sunshine Club and was well known for visiting church members and friends in nursing homes. Survivors include two brothers, Britt Miller of West Jefferson, NC and Barney Miller and wife Sally of Jefferson, NC., two sisters, Pauline Roten of Wilkesboro and Gladys McNeil of North Wilkesboro. She is also survived by godchildren, Cindy Holt, Donna Holt, Jordan Holt, Christopher and Hannah Collins. Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, July17. 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, 703 Buick Avenue, Kannapolis, conducted by Rev. R.J. (Beaver) Hammond and Rev. Max Smith. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. Friday until 2:30 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
