Mrs. Royce Hatley White

Obituary: Mrs. Royce Elizabeth Hatley White, 73, of Locust, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis. She was born January 15, 1944 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Leroy and Gertrude Elizabeth Burris Hatley. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ellen and Phyllas Burris and paternal grandparents Gaston and Sarah Hatley. Mrs. White was of the Baptist Faith. She graduated from Ridgecrest High School and worked as an insurance agent in Property and Casualty Insurance until her retirement in 1999. She was active in many Masonic Ladies appendage organizations. She was a member of Gate City White Shrine #3 and Mizpah Chapter # 36 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a Past Worthy Matron, Past Grand Representative and served as secretary for many years. She was a member and Past Royal Matron of Carolina Court #10 Order of the Amaranth and a dual member of Arrowhead Court #23 Order of the Amaranth. She also served on the NC Grand Court Order of the Amaranth in many offices and committees and had served as Grand Secretary and was named Grand Treasurer Emeritus. She enjoyed reading books in her spare time. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis conducted by Rev. Jim White. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service. Family members left to cherish her memories are her husband of more than 40 years, Stephen White of the home, a son James Wesley Bennett and wife Susan of Locust, and the light of her life; grandson Jaxon Bennett and granddaughters Zena Bennett and Kaeley DeNegre.
