Obituary: Murline Simpson Wyatt, 89, of Kannapolis died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at CHS-NE in Concord after a period of declining health. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 15 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Cabaniss and David Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home prior to the funeral. Murline was born December 23, 1927 in Union County, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mattie Hargett Simpson. She was a long-time area resident and member of First Baptist Church of Kannapolis. Murline enjoyed tutoring children in the Kannapolis City School system and hosting family gatherings at holidays and special occasions. She was the family history archivist and an avid scrap-booker. In addition to her parents, Murline was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Simpson and her husband Harold W. Wyatt, who passed in 2016. Survivors include her daughter, Karen E. Hyner of Concord, her son, David H. Wyatt (Jody) of Indian Trail, 3 granddaughters; Paige Jackson of Kannapolis, Catherine Butler of Albemarle and Rivka Darwactor of Salisbury, 2 great-grandchildren, Laila McKnight and Tristan Darwactor, sister-in-law, Lucy Simpson and niece, Joy Tesh, both of Houston, TX.
