Myron Franklin Yoder , 86, of Landis passed away Thursday, July 22 at his home after a period of declining health.
A memorial service celebrating Myron’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 25 at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church, with Rev. Chad Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
Myron was born April 27, 1935 in Cabarrus Co., the son of the late Jones F. and Ruth Kiser Yoder. In addition to his parents, Myron was preceded in death by his two sisters, Doris Sims and Phyllis Calloway. He was a lifelong area resident and longtime member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church, where he served for many years as custodian and caretaker. Myron was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carol Harkey Yoder, of the home, his sons; Mark Yoder (Cheri) of Durham, Scott Yoder (Karen) of Emerald Isle and Matthew Yoder of Landis, his grandchildren; Madison, Hannah and Christopher Yoder, Nick and Kate Herrin and Sarah Lynch, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 nieces; Pam Harrington and Tammy Drye and 1 nephew, Billy Sims.
Myron’s family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Kim Yoder, for the love and care given to Myron during his recent declining health.
