Obituary: Myrtle JEAN Roberts Aldridge, 81, of Rockwell died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury following a fall at her residence. She was born April 2, 1930 in Raleigh Co. W. Va. daughter of Willie May White Roberts Graybill of Kannapolis and the late William Arnold Roberts. Jean was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in China Grove. She was a homemaker and loved to play and sing gospel music.She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Carson Aldridge who died August 7, 1997. Survivors in addition to her mother include her son, Fred (Barbara) Aldridge of Rockwell, brother, Jim Roberts and sister, Navonia Dixon both of Kannapolis, four grandchildren: Barry and David Brooks, both of China Grove, and Susan and Brandy Aldridge both of Rockwell, five great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Tucker. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to final rites. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday night 7-9:00 P.M. at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence of the son in Rockwell. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, 230 Chasity Lane, China Grove, NC 28023. Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday night 7-9:00 P.M. at Whitleys Funeral Home.

Service: Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church
