Obituary: Myrtle Lillian Hileman Baker, age 81, died Monday, March 15, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a serious illness of one week. She was born April 26, 1928 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Paul B. Hileman, Sr. and Myrtle Walker Hileman. She was a graduate of Winecoff School and attended Catawba College. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills Co. Plt.#1 Order & Data Processing Dept. from 1965 until her retirement in 1993. Myrtle was a member of Franklin Height Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC for over 60 years. She enjoyed all outdoor activities, working in her yard, and taking care of her pets throughout the years. She is fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. The memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jim Grigg and Rev. Robert Earnhardt. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles Rankin Baker; two sons, Charles R. Baker, II & wife, Angela and Gary R. Baker & wife, Alice, both of Kannapolis, NC; three grandchildren, Meredith, Justin, and Michael; and one brother, Paul Hileman & wife, Hazel of Kannapolis, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Y.M.C.A., 101 YMCA Drive, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
