Myrtle Biles Compton Conlan, 85, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on October 25, 2023.
Myrtle was born October 12, 1938, to the late Oscar and Pearlie Wingler.
Myrtle was united in marriage to Wayne D. Biles on October 5, 1955. They raised four children, Johnny, Kathy, Susan, and Robert. Wayne and Robert preceded Myrtle in death. Myrtle remarried Robert Compton and then Richard Conlan. They both preceded her in death. Myrtle always kept her Faith and was a real prayer warrior. She was a long-time member of Memorial Baptist Church in Kannapolis.
Myrtle managed Towel City Junction Restaurant for many years, and later became a cafeteria manager in the Kannapolis City School system. She enjoyed collecting antiques and jewelry, however she mostly enjoyed spending time with family.
Those left to cherish her memories are her three children, Johnny (Lucy) Biles, Kathy Dees, and Susan Biles; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her stepchildren, David Compton, Beth Ostwalt, Kristina Chovit and Richard Conlan Jr; two brothers, Clate Wingler, Odell Wingler and three sisters, Della Mae Shumate, Nell Parker and Margie (Tommy) Walker.
A memorial service for Myrtle will be held at Memorial Baptist Church on Sunday, November 5 at 3:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Memorial Baptist Church in her honor.
