Obituary: Myrtle Frances Hilton, age 70, of Kannapolis died Friday, March 9, 2012 at CMC-NE after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 12, 12:00 PM. with Rev. Ronnie Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Sunday, March 11 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Myrtle was born February 13, 1942 in Cabarrus Co., daughter of the late David M. Hilton, Sr. and the late Jackie Moses Brown. She was a life-long area resident and member of Independence Square Freewill Baptist Church. She loved gospel music and playing Bingo. Myrtle was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her Sister, Patricia Lawing, her brother, Jackie "Butch" Hilton and her step-brother, Charles Powell. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Wayne Hilton of Kannapolis, her daughters; Kathleen Ramey of Kannapolis and Jackie Gantt of Rockwell, her brother David M. Hilton, Jr. of Salisbury and sister, Amanda Willie Sawyer of Norfolk VA and many grandchildren, great-grand children, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
