It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myrtle Jean “Jeanie” Walters, 76 of Kannapolis. Jeanie peacefully passed away Thursday evening, January 9, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Born August 14, 1948, in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Bruce Carter and Gertie Myrtle Walters.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, Linville Walter Church (fiancé), Roger Carter (brother), Demarco Carter (brother), and Bill Carter (brother).

 She attended A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis. Jeanie had worked for Novant Health, and owned Moore Insulation Company of Landis, and Billy Jean’s Lounge of China Grove. 

 Jeanie truly knew that it was more blessed to give than receive. She had the biggest heart, and her generosity knew no limits. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a beautiful soul who would help anyone. She also enjoyed spending her time with her family and grandchildren. She loved a good game of cards and would challenge anyone to a game of rummy or Uno. She enjoyed spending time at the river, fishing, dancing and listening to music.

 Jeanie is survived by her daughter Kathy Bost Stamey (Bob Stamey), son Benny Lynn Bost (Jennifer Bost), daughter, Nena Moore Knight; grandchildren,Trey Stamey (Aimee Stamey), Amanda Stamey Little (Joseph Little), Isaac Knight, Kaleigh Knight, Aubree Knight, Ellie Knight; great grandchildren, Wyatt Stamey, Blaine Little, Slate Little, and Luna Stamey; sister, Barbara Ann Blackwelder; brothers, Carl Carter, Jr., Jimmy Carter (Sandy Carter), Ronnie Carter (Toy Carter), Herbie Carter (Pam Carter); and she is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 14th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at He’s Alive Church in Kannapolis, with Care Pastor Doug Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

 Although Jeanie is gone, she will live in our hearts and minds forever.
