Nan Justice Patterson

Obituary: Nan Justice Patterson, 91, of St. Andrews Assisted Living Center of Concord and formerly of 473 Camrose Circle died at the Center on August 17, 2011.Nan was born on March 23, 1920 in Mooresville, NC, the daughter of the late George Pinkney Justice and the late Bertha Goodrum Justice. In addition to her parents, Nan is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Allen Patterson, Jr. who died in 1991; a son, Louis A. "Buddy" Patterson; three brothers, George, Jack and Robert Justice and a granddaughter, Amy Patterson.Nan was a proud member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was a caring member of the Ester Circle. She was retired as a jeweler store clerk, first with Shepard's Jewelry Store in Concord and later with Belk's Fine Jewelry Dept. at Carolina Mall. After retiring, Nan loved to travel with her husband Pat, enjoyed reading and was the happiest spending time with her children and grandchildren. There was nothing that gave her more enjoyment. They, as much as anyone, will miss their Nana.The funeral service for Nan will take place on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Daniel L. Warnes. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday night. Burial will be Wednesday morning, before the service, at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.Survivors include her 2 sons; Robert L. "Bob" Patterson and wife, Karen of Indian Trail and George M. Patterson and wife, Janet of Concord. 2 daughters; Malinda Barbee and Gail Johnson and husband, Mike of Concord. Eleven grandchildren; Tammy Coleman, Danel Reavis, David Patterson, Margaret Pruette, LeeAnn Couture, Todd Barbee, Andy Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Ryan Patterson, Brittany Patterson and Courtney Patterson. Also by eleven great-granchildren and her brother, Richard Justice and wife, Lavern of Rutherfordton and a host of loving nieces and nephews she dearly loved.Memorials can be made to: St. James Lutheran Church "Kitchen Fund" P.O.
