Nancy Ann Abernathy

Obituary: Nancy Ann Abernathy, 81, of Concord, died August 6, 2016. She was born September 14, 1934 in Union County, the daughter of the late John Henry Foster and Estelle Wilburn Foster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Abernathy on Feb. 18, 2016. Nancy retired from Mecklenburg County Schools. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 prior at Whitley's. She is survived by 3 sons, Mark Taylor Abernathy (Diane) of Mt. Pleasant, Matthew Timothy Abernathy (Beth) of Concord, Mitchell Tyler Abernathy of Eden, grandchildren, Taylor Lee Abernathy, Matthew Abernathy, Haley, Megan and Justin Abernathy.
