Nancy Mcclain Canup

Obituary: Nancy McClain Canup, 65, of Harrisburg, North Carolina, went to be with our Lord on July 26, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Born on July 3, 1947, she was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Durell McClain and Mabel Railey McClain. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 28 at Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg. The family will receive friends at the grave a half hour prior to the graveside service. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Terry Dean Canup, children Devin Grant Canup of the home, Tim Canup and wife Elizabeth of Concord, NC, Beverly Canup Barbee and husband Steve of Concord, NC, four grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Canup and Victoria and Blake Barbee; sisters Janie Allen, Mary Foard and husband George, one brother Gene McClain and wife Barbara, several nieces and nephews. Nancy spent her life taking care of others. She was a registered nurse from 1977 to 2010. She spent 13 years with Charlotte Orthopedic, University Hospital in the operating recovery room, Home Health, Medcath and 15 years with the North Carolina Department of Corrections. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Huntersville or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the grave a half hour prior to the graveside service.

Service: 10:00 AM Saturday, July 28 at Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg.
