Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Nancy Louise Christian, age 70, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at her home after a two year battle against cancer. She was born December 21, 1941 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Collis Frank Christian and Ola Bell Gurley Christian. Nancy grew up in Kannapolis. She was a 1960 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and later went to Beauty College. She had also worked in textiles. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. David G. Smith. Burial will be at a later date at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday prior to the service. Survivors include her three children, David Ray Christian II, Lloyd M. Melton, Jr., and Eric W. Melton, all of Kannapolis, NC; two brothers, Paul D. Christian of Concord, NC and David R. Christian of Kannapolis, NC; and five grandchildren, Haley Melton, Jacob Melton, David R. Christian III, Dustin Howell, and Zach Howell.
