Nancy Ruth Donahue

Obituary: Nancy Ruth Chase Donahue, age 66, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt completed her life's journey on this earth and went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2010. Nancy was born September 1, 1943 in Waltham, MA, the daughter of the late Douglas and Josephine Peters Chase. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Chase Wellinger. Nancy was employed with the former Fieldcrest-Cannon, Inc. for 20 years in the sheet department, plant #1 and plant #6. She also had eighteen years of service at UNC-Charlotte before retiring in 2001. Nancy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary Donahue; one son, Carl Donahue & wife, Vicky of Concord, NC; two daughters, Gail Donahue Gasque & husband, Steven of Wilmington, NC and Jennifer Donahue Foster & husband, Stephen of Salisbury, NC One sister, Elizabeth Ann Chase Walters of Marshfield, MA; her father and mother-in-law, J.D. and Blanche Donahue of Kannapolis, NC Eight grandchildren, Kimberly Donahue, Josh Donahue, Courtney Donahue, Alan Gasque, Sydney Gasque, Lauren Gasque, Christopher Foster, Andrew Foster Sisters-in-law, Susan Sheets & husband, Gary and Janet Dennis & husband, Ken, both of China Grove, NC; as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Revs. Robert Howard. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
