Obituary: Nancy Barnes Goforth, 95, of Kannapolis passed away on November 17, 2012 at her home. She was born on September 29, 1917 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Willie and Emma Idella Wyke Barnes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlie B. Goforth Sr. She was a charter member of New Hope Lutheran Church. She loved to cook for her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at New Hope Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Kim Trabold. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 Wednesday in the church fellowship hall. She is survived by her children: Gladys Jordan of Kannapolis, Earlene Reece (Jim) of Mooresville, Lorine Aderhold Snow of Kannapolis, Linda Clayton of China Grove, Carlie Goforth Jr. (Pearl) of Kannapolis and Diann Holland (Victor) of Kannapolis, two sisters, Edith Mecimore and Marie Davidson both of Taylorsville, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to New Hope Lutheran Church, 1615 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083 and/or Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
