Obituary: Nancy Proctor Teague, age 58, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 3, 2010 surrounded by family and friends during her last days at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. She was born May 2, 1951 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late James Paul Proctor and Gatha Shoe Mullis Proctor. She was employed as a surgical assistant in oral surgery for Dr. Robert Galup for 30 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four siblings. She was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Concord, NC. Her humor, smile, and laughter will be greatly missed. No matter how many times the cancer came back, Nancy remained positive and looked for a brighter side of the situation. She continued to put all her faith and trust in God and left her life in His hands. Her favorite saying was, "I'm a winner either way, if I go or if I stay." And right now she is a winner in our book because she's in the presence of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Nancy was a blessing and a true friend to many and will be greatly missed. We love you! A memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Roger Bostic and Rev. Ronnie Cooper. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday prior to the memorial service at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Larry D. Teague, Sr.; three children, Todd Morris, Wesley Morris, and Kelly Canela, all of Kannapolis, NC; three step-children, Larry Dean Teague, Jr. and Douglas C. Teague, both of Kannapolis, NC, and Daniel Brown Teague of Salisbury, NC; one brother, Perry Proctor of Salisbury, NC; one sister, Terry Starnes of Concord, NC; and ten grandchildren. Nancy's family would especially like to thank her best friend, Linda Icenhour, for always being there when she needed her. Thank you for showing her love and support and for sitting with her during her treatments. Memorials may be made to Temple Independent Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1133, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
