Obituary: Nell Alene Perry Cashion, 82, of Kannapolis died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Morningside of Concord. She was born July 31, 1928 in Union County, the daughter of the late Marshall Wayne Perry and Carrie Bryant Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb Vance Cashion Jr. on August 27, 2004. She was also preceded by two brothers, Thomas and Cecil Perry and her sister Ruby Perry Montgomery. She started work at Cannon Mills Co. in 1945 where she worked in the payroll and cost accounting department until retiring in 1993. She was a 1945 graduate of Odell High School. She was member of First Presbyterian Church where she had been active in the Walter Goodman Sunday school class, Friendship Club, Wednesday Luncheon program, Samaritan's Purse project, and various other church activities. She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Perry of N. Augusta, SC and Ben Perry and wife Reva of Kannapolis, sisters-in-law Mary Belle Cashion Hill , Jean Cashion Gurley and husband Kenneth and Kay R. Perry, nieces, nephews and cousins including a devoted cousin Linda Harward of Kannapolis. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Cathy George and Rev. Kris Edscorn. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at Whitley's from 12 to 1 prior to the service.
