Nell Pauline Polly Ross

Obituary: Nell Pauline "Polly" Ross , 85, of 315 Dalewood Avenue, Kannapolis, NC died Wednesday Dec. 16, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born May 10, 1924 in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Julius and Eva Mae Long. She was preceded in death by her first husband Bert Davis and a great-great-grandchild Monica. She retired from Cannon Mills Co Plant 1 Wash Cloth Dept after 25 years. She also worked at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. She is a member of Charity Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Charles Earl "Tony" Ross, her son Ronnie Davis of Baltimore, Md., her 3 daughters: Vivian Brooks and Nancy Cook both of Kannapolis and Melinda Hughes of China Grove, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM on Saturday Dec. 19, 2009 officiated by Rev. R.J. Hammond and Rev. Ron Bushey. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Saturday at Whitley's.
