Nelle Lafevers Gantt

Obituary: Nelle LaFevers Gantt, 89, of Kannapolis passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at her home. She was born September 4, 1922 in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Claude Lester LaFevers and Aulena Viola Davis LaFevers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace John Gantt in 2008. Nelle was a former beautician and a stay at home Mom. She loved working out in her yard and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Coy Privette. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Saturday at Whitley's. She is survived by three children, Mike Gantt (Darlene) , Steve Gantt (Penny) and Pat Broadway (Craige) all of Kannapolis, 4 grandchildren, Tosha Gantt, Amy Gantt Fairchild (Roger), Todd Gantt (Kimberly) and Jennifer Broadway Wright (Chris), 5 great-grandchildren: Michael Gantt, PFC. Coty Gantt, Karson, Kayman and Kennady Wright, step sister, Sandra LaFevers Tuck, step brother, Claude "Buddy" LaFevers and a special nephew, Darren LaFevers (Carolyn). The family would like to thank all of Nelle's sitters she has had in the past few weeks for their love and care.
