Neth Lee (Ken) Davis, Sr.

Obituary: Kenneth Lee Davis, age 75, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at his home after a period of declining health. He was born October 19, 1941 in Mecklenburg County, NC, the son of the late Clarence Boger and Elva Mae Davis Boger. Ken was employed with Duke Energy in Kannapolis, NC for thirty-five years until his retirement. Later, he also worked as a bail bondsman for several years. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Concord, NC where he was active in various phases of church activities. Ken was a very active mason having been affiliated with Allen-Graham Lodge # 695, Cannon Lodge # 626; and an honorary member of Union Lodge, Concord, NC. During his time in masonry, he had served as Grand Master twice for Cannon Memorial Lodge; served as secretary of Cannon Memorial Lodge for over twenty-five years; had served as a District Deputy Grand Master; former member of Cabarrus Shrine Club; the Scottish Rite Bodies of Charlotte; and had served as the lecturer for numerous masonic funeral/graveside services for all area Masonic lodges over the years. Outside of these duties, Ken found quality time to hunt and fish over the years as special enjoyments with family and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two siblings, Ted Davis and Charles Boger. The memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 4151 Odell School Road, Concord, NC officiated by Rev. Greg Hamilton. A masonic service will be held in the sanctuary at the end of the service by Allen-Graham Masonic Lodge. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the memorial service. Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years as of April 10, 2017, Sylbia Horne Davis; his children, Kenneth Davis, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; Cindy Davis of Mt. Holly, NC; Martha Stawn of Landis, NC; and Bennie Strawn of Kannapolis, NC; his grandchildren, Taylor White, Amanda Pence, Erin Basinger, and Jordan Lewis; and his one great-grandchild, Jaylen White; and a brother, Don Boger of China Grove, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 4151 Odell School Road, Concord, NC 28027 or the Masonic Childrens' Home, 600 West College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
