Mrs. Nettie Helms Stocks 84, of China Grove, North Carolina went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 30, 2020 after a brief illness. Nettie was born in Rowan County June 18, 1936 a daughter of Glenn Dean Huffman and Hattie Church Huffman.

Nettie enjoyed fishing at the beach with family and friends, spending time in Florida and trips with church friends. Nettie had a love for flowers and various plants and nature. In her younger years she was a fantastic softball player. Nettie loved to listen to music especially that which her late husband James Stocks had recorded.  Nettie enjoyed making friends and trying to make life more pleasant for everyone. She had a deep love for reading her Bible and attending church.

Nettie was predeceased by her husband Phil Payne Helms on November 4, 1983 and her husband James Elbert Stocks, Jr. on April 6, 2016. Her parents and her sisters Hazel Bennett, and Ann Donaldson.

Family members that will always cherish Nettie’s memory are her daughter Sabrina H. Hartley of Kannapolis, North Carolina and her son Phil S. Helms and wife Shelia of China Grove, North Carolina. Grandchildren Brooke Helms, Nicolas Helms and Trevor Hartley. Her sister Bettye Steen and husband Fred of Concord, North Carolina and nieces and nephews

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 4, 2020 at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex on Statesville Road, Salisbury, N.C. officiated by Rev. Tom Cabaniss.

Family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Kannapolis at 101 N. Main Street, Kannapolis, North Carolina 28081.
