Nina White Absher

Obituary: Nina White Absher, 92, of Kannapolis went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 13, 2015 from her son's home. She was born June 8, 1922 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Jenner Ferch White and Matilda Brown White. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Absher, grandson, Tony Absher ,great grandson, Andrew Hodgson, sisters, Leah Barnes and Bura Williams, and brothers, Floyd, Turner and H.A. White. Nina retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1 after 45 years. She was a faithful member of Shadybrook Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Shadybrook Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Ricky Oxford and Rev. Steve Wilson. Her body will lie in state at church one hour prior. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. She is survived by her son, Eugene Absher (Fay) , grandchildren, Ronald Absher (Liz), Sherry Hodgson (Mark), and great grandchildren, Kate and James Absher, Avery and Colin Hodgson.
