Obituary: Nona Geneva Harkey Stowe, 80, of Kannapolis passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at her home. She was born March 4, 1931 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Perry Alexander Harkey and Maggie Winnie Cannon Harkey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Eugene Stowe on July 26, 2007.She retired from Cannon Mills Plant 4 Weave room. She enjoyed embroidery work, especially pillowcases, and also gardening and canning. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 24, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Walt Lyman. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Whitley's.She is survived by two sons, Reece Stowe (Darlene) of Kannapolis and Jimmy Stowe (Angela) of Kannapolis, 5 grandchildren: Dwayne Stowe (Renee), Angel Van Buren, J.D. Stowe, Sarah Stowe and Brian Bryant, 6 greatgrandchildren: Lacey, Holly, Elizabeth, Haley, Dalton and Jason and her sister Effie Mills of Salisbury. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
Visitation: 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 11 a.m., Friday, June 24th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC.
