Norene Freeze

Obituary: Norene Gordon Freeze of Concord, N.C. passed away on March 15, 2016 following a period of declining health. She was born October 27, 1922 in Madison County , Georgia, the oldest daughter of the late Walter and Fairy Gordon. She has lived in the Kannapolis area since she was 17, and married the late Harrell Lee Freeze. She was also preceded in death by 2 bothers, W.J. and Felton Gordon, and 2 sisters, Kathleen Bost and Evelyn Greene. She has a surviving sister, Syble Moseley of Kannapolis, and a surviving brother O.B. Gordon of Kannapolis. Norene and her late husband, Harrell Lee, owned and operated a local restaurant, Lake Todd Fish Camp since 1962. They were both widely known throughout the community, and their customers became their extended family. Additionally she was a long time member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by her son, Dale Alan Freeze and wife, Donna, of Concord, NC., two daughters, Delane Clubb/ Mark Crainshaw of Concord, N.C. and Brenda Holland / Don Gray of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. They all were the joy of her life. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 20,2016 at Whitley Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Charlie Gibbons with interment following at Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, N.C. The family will receive friends 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior to the service at Whitleys.
